DRC PRESIDENT VISITS HUAWEI HEADQUARTERS DURING CHINA STATE VISIT
THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, FÉLIX-ANTOINE TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO, CURRENTLY ON A STATE VISIT TO CHINA, VISITED HUAWEI’S HEADQUARTERS IN SHENZHEN ON SUNDAY MAY 28, 2023.
The Congolese Head of State was welcomed on site by Dr. Liang Hua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Huawei. Together, they visited Huawei’s headquarters showroom dedicated to the latest trends in technology and the digital economy.
This visit was an opportunity for the DRC and Huawei to continue their in-depth discussions on joint efforts to promote Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), digital transformation of industries, sustainable development, universal connectivity and talent development in the country.
“Huawei has been present in the DRC for 17 years. The company is committed to contributing to the country’s sustainable development through its advanced ICT technologies and professional services, thus aligning itself with the DRC’s “Plan National du Numérique – Horizon 2025″ strategy,” said the Dr. Liang Hua.
“Huawei will continue to work with its local industrial customers and partners to support the DRC in its goal of universal connectivity,” he also added.
For President Félix Tshisekedi: “Thanks to this partnership, we will develop areas that are close to my heart: energy, education, health, public finance, security.
A memorandum of understanding aimed at setting up a partnership for digital transformation in the DRC was signed during the visit of the Congolese Head of State to Huawei’s head office.
This aims to strengthen digital cooperation in the areas of ICT infrastructure, digitalization of government services, businesses and green energy.
